Well hello everyone, my name is Pam and I am one of the members of Carried Away. I am very excited to be apart of this monthly blog, but I must warn you that this is going to be a lesson in discipline for me, since my blogging history is not very consistent and I’ve never been able to get myself into a habit of journaling regularly. On the other hand, I believe journaling and getting your thoughts on paper is a powerful way to release your feelings and connect with God.
Being in an all-girl group we naturally have many opportunities to perform at women’s and girl’s events. Actually, this past weekend we sang at an event called Pure Fashion in Charlotte, North Carolina. It’s a fashion show put on by girls who have taken a stance on purity and modesty. Being a young girl in today’s world definitely presents some struggles and pressures, one being fashion. Not only dealing with modesty, but also the pressure to have name brand and top label clothing. I guess it comes down to how you want to present yourself and also who you are representing. Personally, I want my clothing to say that I am a confident and respectable girl who knows who she is and is not afraid to be herself. I’m not sure if clothing can say all that, but hey, it’s worth a shot! And secondly, I want people to not be distracted by what I’m wearing, so they can see the path I’m on with Christ and hear what I have to say about how awesome He is! These Pure Fashion events work to teach girls what it means to be fashionable while keeping in mind who we’re living for and what we stand for. They are so much fun and I love seeing the very fashionable outfits the girls put together. This weekend we’re going to be doing another Pure Fashion event in Atlanta and it’s supposed to be the biggest one yet, so it should be very exciting! Hope you all have a great day! Peace.
