Why We Do What We Do

Hey everyone! Well with the arrival of May, I am getting more and more excited for warmer weather!! Canada always takes its’ time thawing out after a long winter. But hey, I’m not complaining because I find living in a place that has very cold winters almost makes me appreciate the lovely summers that much more. I love living in Canada and for now its my home; you never know what the future holds though!

So this past week we were down in Nashville for the Gospel Music Week. We did a lot of interviews and answered many of the same questions, I think I could rattle off the whole Carried Away story in my sleep! It was really awesome though meeting very cool people and having some good conversation with our interviewers. Coming home after and reflecting on the whole GMA week, I realized how much of a reminder it was to me on why we do what we do in the first place. Having the chance to share our story over and over again made me look back and see what an incredible journey God has brought us on! I mean when Carried Away started, I was only 12 years old. I would have never dreamed that I would be doing this today! God is good.

This past Sunday we had the opportunity to sing at a church in South Elgin, IL and the people there were such a blessing to us! Quite often I’ll go into a show thinking that we’re there to bless them and then we walk out being blessed by them. I can honestly say that I am so excited to go wherever God sends us; there are so many people that need to be told the gospel of Jesus and others who need encouragement. Sometimes I wish that I could just scream at the top of my lungs, loud enough for the whole world to hear, and say that Jesus is the way the truth and the life…follow Him! I guess it’s not that easy though, and so I’ll keep singing and telling one person at a time if I have to how good God is!
