Introducing Beloved

It seems like right now, something new unfolds every day for Beloved…..and for that we are both grateful and excited! Soul-Audio’s Artists in Residence blog is one of the new things that has come our way and we are thrilled to be a part because being short on words is something we have never been accused of!! Since we are new to the scene, I’ll start off by introducing the three members that make up the group.

Kim Gravel is our lead singer. She is a seasoned singer, songwriter and all-around performer. She competed in the Miss America pageant some years back (I won’t reveal how many years but you can Google it if you really want to know!) as Miss Georgia and currently juggles hosting duties of the popular Christian TV talk show Friends and Neighbors with her role as a new mom. Denise Clark sings alto for the group. Denise has been married for 25 years, has two grown children, one new grandchild and is now realizing the dreams that have been hibernating in her heart. I am Amy Goins and I sing soprano. I am single (or as I like to say, an unclaimed blessing!) and I spent time living in Nashville in the early 2000’s songwriting and working in the music industry at Forefront Records.

I think the best way to provide a window into who Beloved is and what we are about is to tell you our mission statement, which is: “The purpose of Beloved is to encourage and edify the body of Christ, particularly women, and to present salvation through Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him. Beloved facilitates their calling through singing, songwriting, testimony, humor, but most of all through genuine relationship building.” That really says it all right there.

John 3:1 says “How great is the love the Father has lavished upon us that we should be called children of God, and that is what we are…..”. That is the verse that we have based our ministry on and what we bring everything back to. What a vital message it is…..to know and understand that God loves us, even to the point of lavishing it on us. I like that word! It is so grand and excessive. But ya’ll, that is how God loves, grand and excessively!

Our focus over upcoming blogs is to share our point of view as three normal women, in different stages of life, who are just willing to be used. We are passionate about loving God and loving people. After all, that’s really all that matters.
