I just celebrated my 27th birthday on September 22nd. My wife and I escaped to Seattle and spent an evening there. We ate some great Indian food with our friend Milton (Ohmega Watts) and checked into our nice hotel right by the water. I always book my hotels at priceline.com so we are able to stay at 4 star hotels for 2 star prices. We went to a Mariners game that night and walked around looking for the best hot dog in the stadium. Haha. We had great seats, about 20 rows behind home plate. My wife was convinced that someone was going to get killed by a foul ball. My friend Ken works for the Mariners and translates for Ichiro, so we thank him for the great seats.
Me and my wife felt strange traveling without our daughter. We did it for 4 years before she was born, but our new life (w/baby) is so routine that we feel weird on our own. Nonetheless, we had a great time in Seattle. We spent our morning walking around Pikes Place market and getting a few goodies. If you like good food then Pikes Place is a must visit place for you if you’re ever in Seattle.
I’ve been tripping out about my age a little bit. When I first turned 20, it didn’t feel much different then being a teenager. At 22 it didn’t feel much different either. Now I’ve been married for 6 years, I have a daughter and I’m knee deep in my career. The foundation for my life on earth is in cement right now. My family and career are both permanent things for me. I’m committed to both and am in it for the long haul. So on my 27th birthday I can literally say that I don’t have any wants or needs right now. I’m not a rich man… and sometimes it’s a struggle just to make my bills, but I’m extremely thankful for everything going on in my life and I’m praising God for the life he has given me.
