U2 Release New Album, Prep Tour, Find Home on Letterman

No Line on the Horizon debuted today, U2’s first album since 2004’s How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. The latest album has received largely positive reviews, including five-star assessments from Rolling Stone, Blender, and Q Magazine, as well as a rating of A- from Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen. It also received a perfect 10/10 here at Soul-Audio.

To promote the release, U2 will spend the next week on The Late Show with David Letterman, a stint which began last night with the first recorded performance of new track “Breathe” from Horizon.

To honor the band, a stretch of West 53rd Street was temporarily renamed “U2 Way,” a nod of which lead vocalist and prominent political/social rights activist Bono Vox had this to say, via The Associated Press: “Somewhere south of Duke Ellington Way and north of Joey Ramone Place we find ourselves,” said lead singer Bono. “And we’re the band where the streets have no name.”

The band will begin touring later this year, the early details of which were recently outlined in Rolling Stone. Promising noticeably lower ticket prices and greater fan interaction, all the facts can be dug up right here.
