As part of an ongoing promotion every Monday until the release of MxPx’s upcoming covers album, On The Cover II, the band is releasing one of the tracks! Available today on their MySpace page, fans can listen to MxPx’s version of “Linda Linda” by The Blue Hearts.
Lead singer and bassist Mike Herrera calls the track “the biggest surprise song on the record…[The Blue Hearts] are one of the biggest Japanese punk bands ever, and we wanted to do a little something special for our Japanese fans.” The song is the third weekly release off of their covers album, which comes out March 24 via Tooth & Nail Records. Last week, fans were treated to “Suburban Home” by Descendents.
Another revealed track — The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go” — will be featured on BBC Radio 1’s Punk Rock Show today. The show can be heard online after 7pm PST /10 pm EST and the remainder of the week right here. Incidentally, BBC listeners will also get to hear an interview with guitarist Tom Wisniewski, who took on lead vocals on “Should I Stay or Should I Go”!
And for the third straight week, AbsolutePunk.net will be featuring two new and exclusive promotional photos from the band’s album photo shoot. So far, AP.net has unveiled MxPx’s renditions of The GoGo’s, Decendents and Dead Milkmen. Log on for today’s revealing!
