Contemporary Christian music’s version of American Idol, Gospel Dream 2008, is slated to premiere on June 1st, boasting a cast of notable judges as they work toward deciding the fate of 16 vocalists chosen from auditions all across the country. Judges Big Jim Wright, whose credits range from work with Mariah Carey to Nicole C. Mullen, Martha Munizzi, and J. Moss are set to tackle the “Randy/Paula/Simon” portion of the show while Dove-nominated singer and songwriter Matthew West is set to bring his version of “Seacrest” to life as host.
The show is slated to run for five consecutive weeks on the Gospel Music Channel, with the winner being crowned June 29th. The prize? A Royal Caribbean cruise as well as a record and music video deal.
