After several months of delays, Derek WEbb and INO Records announce the release of Webb’s newest album, Stockholm Syndrome, set to release September 1, 2009. The project, which has been over two years in the making, will be a dramatic departure from Webb’s usual musical stylings. While the lyrics promise to be as thought-provoking as ever, the music pulls away from his folk roots and heads to more “intentionally inorganic” territory, encompassing rock, R&B and jazz.
This time around, he’s also used unconventional methods to raise awareness of the album, including scavenger hunts, Twitter feeds, websites and blogs. The album, produced by Derek Webb’s former Caedmon’s Call bandmate, Josh Moore (Watermark, Bethany Dillon, Bun-B, Slim Thug) promises to be another intense album from Derek Webb.
