Israel Slated to Perform at Bluesfest

Israel and New Breed will be playing and singing at Canada’s Bluesfest this summer. Israel and New Breed will perform a two-hour concert on the Hard Rock Café Stage at the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest in Ontario July 18th at 6:45 p.m. EDT before an expected crowd of 30,000.

The group’s frontman, multi-instrumentalist and producer Israel Houghton, has written or co-written 11 CCLI Top 500 favorites, creating a canon of songs that have become standards in houses of faith around the globe. The Power of One, Houghton’s first studio offering after a string of highly successful New Breed live concert CDs, comes with a challenge to people of faith to live out their worship through giving to and serving “the least of these”. With this in mind, Houghton and New Breed will represent international aid and relief agency World Vision, which connects individual donors with sponsored children from impoverished areas around the world.
Other performers scheduled to appear at Bluesfest include: Papa San, Ben Harper, Ludacris, Jeff Beck, Joe Cocker, Styx, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Estelle, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, KISS and the Brian Setzer
Orchestra.

Looks like Izzy will be in some heavy-duty company there! Sounds like less blues, more ‘fest,’ in my opinion!
