The freshmen alt-rockers from Georgia will perform alongside many of rock and roll’s great voices: The Bravery, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell (who recently went solo after a three record project with supergroup Audioslave), alternative metal up-and-comers Ashes Divide, and world class rapper Busta Rhymes.
This is part of the MTV2 Rock the Revolution contest, which allowed judges and fans to pick three local bands to share the stage with the above headlining acts. After Edmund was one of the bands chosen. MTV2 will catch the performance Sunday night, August 3rd, at the Lakewood Amphitheater, and possibly air portions at a later, as yet unspecified date.
“We are proud to have been chosen to perform,” stated keyboard player Yates. “To get an opportunity like this is encouraging. We’ve been at this a while - sometimes it’s good to feel like the hard work pays off. There are some great bands coming out of the Atlanta area. We consider it an honor to be among them and are grateful to everyone who voted.”
After Edmund’s debut release, Hello, hit shelves in February garnering acclaim by various industry insiders. Known for their high-energy live set and their distinct modern rock style, the band has recently been featured on various summer festivals and television shows including Good Day Atlanta, Live at NINE and Positively Arkansas among others.
The group just returned from their first overseas tour to Sweden, will be hitting the road in the fall alongside Building 429 and Addison Road for a 30-city nationwide tour. The band’s latest single “Clouds” has just been released to Christian CHR stations everywhere.
