Spring Hill/Nine North recording artist Jason Crabb is making new fans across America as his mainstream country radio debut, “Somebody Like Me,” continues to be added in some of the nation’s biggest markets. The song has been “New & Active” on the Billboard BDS Country Indicator chart for three consecutive weeks.
Penned by Neil Thrasher and Michael Boggs, “Somebody Like Me” can now be heard on KBWF in San Francisco; KKWF in Seattle; KUPL in Portland; WOKQ in Portsmouth, Maine; KEAN in Abilene, Texas; and KATM in Modesto, California, among many other stations around the country.
Also, Crabb’s “Walk on Water” is the #1 Southern Gospel song in the country, according to the Singing News radio chart, to be published in the magazine’s January issue. The first Gospel single from his best-selling, critically-acclaimed self-titled solo debut, “Walk on Water” was written by Bobby O. Pinson, Trent Tomlinson, and Vicky McGehee and marks Crabb’s first #1 hit as a solo artist.
Crabb continues to make a variety of mainstream and Christian media appearances. He performed “Somebody Like Me” at last month’s 15th Annual Inspirational Country Music (ICM) Awards Show, which was broadcast throughout the United States and Canada. He has also appeared twice this year on the nationally-syndicated “Rick & Bubba” radio program, and has made television appearances on GAC, RFD and Gospel Music Channel, among other networks.
Crabb was a recent subject of Country Weekly magazine’s “Listen Up!” feature, where “Somebody Like Me” was offered as a limited-time free download. Additionally, he appeared at events in conjunction with this year’s CMA Week in Nashville.
Following its June 30 release, Jason Crabb debuted at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Christian/Gospel Christian Retail chart; at #2 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart; and at #1 on Nielsen SoundScan’s Southern Gospel albums chart, catapulting the project to #62 on The Billboard 200 albums chart. Produced by Tommy Sims (Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith), Norro Wilson (Kenny Chesney, Reba) and Crabb, the 12-song set also features guest appearances from Vince Gill, Sonya Isaacs and the Gaither Vocal Band.
